A member of the Jackson County Board of Commissioners filed a complaint Monday of “harassment by phone” against one of the candidates vying for the BOC chairmanship. District commissioner Dwain Smith filed a complaint with the Jackson County Sheriff’s Department against BOC chairman candidate Ron Johnson about a Sunday phone call Johnson allegedly made to Smith.
Meanwhile, early voting for the Aug. 5 runoff will begin Monday in Jackson, Banks and Barrow counties. Highlighting area races are runoffs in Barrow and Jackson counties for Chairman of the BOC and in all three counties a runoff for District Attorney.

Smith's mouth has already cost the county $400,000 to Jones, not to mention what he lost as EMS director. Maybe Johnson should sue the county and get a big pay off.
It is unprofessional for any official to campaign as heavily as Smith has for Bicknell. Much like the IDA members campaigning for their candidate.
When you give a man a check for $350,000, I think you can safely say the word "accused" is thrown out the window.
